Work Experience
Experience
Bird Surveys
South Australia / Victoria
I have experience in surveying via transect and area searches including some very threatened and cryptic species.
I have also surveyed shore- and waterbirds in coastal and freshwater habitats from transects, area searches, at breeding colonies and via boat across multiple seasons.
Bird Banding
South Australia / Victoria
I can assemble and pack down mist nets, retrieve birds and perform banding safely. I have banded primarily woodland and bush birds including Honeyeaters, Wrens, Finches, Miners, Whistlers and Wattlebirds.
This year I also assisted in trapping Ducks and fitting GPS trackers to them.
Pitfalling
South Australia
I've dug in new pitfalls, used pitfall traps to record data on various reptiles, small mammals and invertebrates.
Remote Field Work
South Australia / Victoria / New South Wales
I've spent time camping and doing field work in remote areas for extended periods of time. I can use GPS, Avenza, SPOT and InReach to navigate and communicate, plan and execute remote field work. I am capable of budgeting, meal planning, risk assesment and volunteer coordination. I have some 4WD experience and enjoy working outside.
Veg ID
South Australia / Victoria / New South Wales
I have some experience performing vegetation health surveys including for Eucalypts and Triodia sp. I am enjoying brushing up on my veg skills.
Grant Writing
I have successfully applied for several grants and have been involved in the evaluation of grant applications as part of my duties as a committee member for the Biology Society of South Australia
Communication
As part of my undergraduate degree, my honours coursework, and commitments to external collaborators I have experience in a variety of writing styles including scientific papers, reports, and science communication pieces. I am a confident public speaker and have strong public-facing skills.

I have experience using GIS and R Studio for the purposes of field work planning, data analysis and visualisation.
